Karlia Northcote, part of the Newcastle Community Support Program Committee was delighted to help fund these amazing community-led projects.
“We are a proud and active member of the Newcastle community and recognised the opportunity to financially assist some local community groups that make such an important contribution to our community.
“The funding helped provide care kits for sick kids, much needed hospital equipment, supported families when they needed it most, ran a female focused development program, purchased supplies for the community and conducted training.
“Community groups are the backbone of our community, and we are pleased we could help them continue to offer their vital service and deliver their project to the people of Newcastle.
“It is also more than just donating money to these groups. Everyone in the team gets to learn more about the community group, connect, be involved and share their time.
“We look forward to supporting more fantastic and meaningful community projects this year,” said Karlia.
Ido van der Schaaf from Maitland Family Support said, “We sincerely thank Yancoal for partnering with us to deliver 120 Christmas hampers to families in our community.
