-- Lisa Antoinette Herbert, a Melbourne-based dancer, choreographer, and educator with a distinguished career across Australia’s commercial entertainment industry, today announced her expansion into the United States market. With extensive credits spanning arena performances, feature films, television, music videos, major sporting events, and large-scale live productions, Herbert is positioned to bring her versatile skill set and professional expertise to international audiences.

Herbert’s performance credits include a featured role in the Paramount Pictures feature film Better Man, directed by Michael Gracey and choreographed by Ashley Wallen, as well as a high-profile performance at the AFL Grand Final alongside international artists including Robbie Williams, Katy Perry, Snoop Dogg, and Delta Goodrem. Her career further encompasses the Australian Open, Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix, music videos, national touring productions, and major televised entertainment events.
In addition to her performance career, Herbert has made significant contributions as an educator within the Australian dance industry, teaching at prestigious full-time institutions, studios, conventions, and training programs. Her teaching expertise has taken her across Australia, where she has mentored emerging dancers and choreographers at both pre-professional and professional levels.
As a choreographer, Herbert works fluidly across commercial dance, jazz, contemporary, jazz-funk, street styles, and performance-based choreography. Her movement style draws from stage and screen storytelling, large-scale live entertainment, cinematic movement, and foundational training across multiple genres. Known for her musicality, performance direction, and movement dynamics, Herbert blends genres while maintaining respect for their foundations and cultural origins.
“The United States offers opportunities on a scale that is challenging to attain solely within Australia,” said Herbert. “I am passionate about continuous growth as a performer and choreographer, and I want to contribute creatively in spaces that value versatility, exceptional performance quality, and strong technical training.”
Throughout her career, Herbert has consistently been entrusted with leadership and prominent performance roles due to her versatility, professionalism, and ability to adapt across styles and environments. Her experience spans both stage and screen, requiring adaptability between grand-scale live entertainment and precision on-camera work. She has also earned recognition for her leadership capabilities, including guiding rehearsals, supporting creative teams, mentoring younger performers, and maintaining high standards in fast-paced professional settings.
Herbert is additionally the founder and creative director of The Dance Abysss, an independent Melbourne-based industry event established to support and showcase choreographers and dancers across styles and backgrounds. The platform reflects her commitment to strengthening the Australian dance community while simultaneously expanding her international presence.
As she prepares for the next chapter of her career, Herbert’s goals include continuing to work on large-scale live productions, touring performances, screen projects, artist development, creative direction, and dance education internationally.
