-- Jacobi Productions Inc., the Vancouver-based studio founded by Nicolas Jacobi and Zoya Jacobi in late 2023, is moving forward on two original film projects: PARLOUR, a neo-noir thriller, and an untitled feature centered on a covert intelligence operative, referred to internally as Operation Domino. PARLOUR, written by James D. Brown and Craig Katayama, draws inspiration from Mary Howitt's poem "The Spider and the Fly," following three protagonists and two antagonists through a world where survival often demands compromise. The project is targeting a Fall 2026 production start in Vancouver, with casting expected to follow as development progresses.
The second project follows a covert operative connected to the recovery of a substantial cache of gold tied to a decades-old international case, according to Jacobi Productions. German investigative journalist Peter Müller, whose earlier documentary first brought the story to public attention, is co-developing the screenplay with Nicolas Jacobi.
"It's about the systems that control both, and the people willing to risk everything to expose them," said Nicolas Jacobi, CEO and Co-Founder of Jacobi Productions. "People will see what real, old-school tradecraft looks like, something that's largely faded from today's world."
With both projects moving forward, Jacobi Productions is positioning itself in the global thriller space to attract talent, buyers, and additional financing partners seeking original, character-driven material.
