-- 26-year-old Téo Calvet, who races for Buggyra Academy France, arrived at Paul Ricard having already established himself as a front-runner in the season opener at Dijon. He left Le Castellet with his championship lead intact, having scored three podiums from four starts. A front-wheel puncture in the final race denied him a clean sweep.
Saturday
In Race 1 on Saturday, Calvet ran side by side with Thomas Robineau across multiple laps before a red flag interruption. Racing resumed under the same conditions, and Robineau eventually held on to take the win, with Calvet second. In Race 2, run in reverse-grid order, Calvet started seventh. An incident at the start involving Lionel Montagne moved him to fourth, and he worked through the field to win.
“In Race 1, I finished second after two very close restarts. We were side by side through many corners, and in the end, Thomas (Robineau) took the win. In Race 2, I started seventh, got some help from the first-corner incident, and won from there,” said Calvet.
Sunday
Calvet won Race 3 to complete a strong weekend’s work. In Race 4, he had to retire with a front-wheel puncture. “Two wins and a second place from Le Castellet is a good result. The puncture in Race 4 cost us some points, but overall we had a strong weekend. Now, I’m looking forward to Nogaro. It is my home race,” said Calvet.
After round 2 of the French Truck Racing Championship Téo Calvet leads the standings with 244 points, followed in second by Thomas Robineau with 230 points and Lionel Montagne in third with 199 points.
The next race will take place from June 20-21 at Circuit Paul Armagnac at Nogaro, Téo Calvet’s home race.
