-- Andy Funk, founder of Ho'omau Endurance Co., has been recognized with a 2026 Entrepreneur Award in Leadership, according to a winner record published by the award program at https://www.entrepreneurawards.co/winners/andy-funk.

The Entrepreneur Awards describes itself as an independent award that recognizes individual founders rather than companies. Funk founded Ho'omau Endurance Co. in Santa Monica in 2024. The award recognizes his role in building a business that combines endurance training camps, performance testing, coaching, race events, and an athlete community within a single operating structure.
The company's services include training camps in Tenerife and Nevada, performance testing, and coaching for swimmers, cyclists, runners, triathletes, and rowers, along with a membership program called Club Ho'omau.
Ho'omau Endurance Co. also operates Vegas In 24, an ultra-distance cycling event with routes starting from Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Reno. Each route finishes at the Welcome to Las Vegas sign under a fixed 24-hour time limit. According to the event organizer, athletes who complete all four routes qualify for a Grand Slam prize. The next start is scheduled for October 24, 2026, at Chase Field in Phoenix.
In April 2016, Funk completed a ride from Los Angeles to the Welcome to Las Vegas sign in 20 hours, 41 minutes, and 25 seconds, according to the company, which states that the time has not been surpassed on its own tracking of the route. The ride, undertaken as a charity effort, later served as the basis for the Vegas In 24 event format.
"The point was to build one place for training, testing, racing, and community instead of a dozen services that never talk to each other," Funk said.
Alexandra Dalton, a spokesperson for the Entrepreneur Awards, said: "Andy Funk's selection for a 2026 Entrepreneur Award reflects execution under pressure, a coherent endurance model, and a founder willing to test the same standards in competition that the business asks others to meet."
