-- "Building a Healthy Aging Society: ASEAN Pathways and China Coordination" has been officially published, contributing to the establishment of the China-ASEAN Silver Economy Community.

During the 2026 ASEAN–China Silver Economy Development Forum, Yang Yong, Deputy Director and Secretary-General of the ASEAN–China Silver Economy Development Research Center (ACSEC), officially released the first volume of the "Building a China–ASEAN Silver Economy Community" series—*Building a Healthy Aging Society: ASEAN Pathways and China Collaboration*. Published by Hualing Publishing House, this work stands as the first authoritative systematic study on collaborative silver economy development in the China–ASEAN region, marking a new phase of theoretical systematization and standardization in regional cooperation between ASEAN and China in the silver economy sector.
This book was meticulously planned by ACSEC, with Yang Yifan and Xiong Rong serving as co-editors and Yang Yong as executive editor. Grounded in the global wave of population aging and the overarching trend of regional integration, it systematically introduces and elaborates on the core concept of the "Silver Economy Community" for the first time. Data-driven, the book provides a comprehensive overview of the current status, trends, and shared challenges of population aging in ASEAN, establishes an integrated analytical framework encompassing institutions, industry, technology, and finance, and fully presents the divergent yet interconnected patterns of aging processes across ASEAN countries. It offers in-depth analyses of the distinct healthy aging practices adopted by nations such as Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia, while pioneering four key pillars for regional cooperation: policy coordination, industrial complementarity, digital empowerment, and innovative finance.
At the launch ceremony, Secretary-General Yang Yong stated that the book systematically addresses major practical issues arising from the accelerated population aging and deepening regional integration, balancing theoretical frameworks with actionable approaches. It comprehensively fills the gap in collaborative research on China-ASEAN silver economy, serving not only as a milestone achievement in regional silver economy studies but also as a professional and authoritative action guide for government policymaking, industrial investment, and academic research.
According to the introduction, this book builds upon the respective developmental advantages of China and ASEAN, focusing on new paradigms and pathways for regional collaboration in addressing aging challenges. It aims to advance China-ASEAN cooperation in the silver economy from conceptual consensus to substantive implementation, contributing expertise and solutions in the field of aging to foster a closer China-ASEAN community with a shared future. The three concurrently released blue books on digital-intelligent health, technology transfer in traditional Chinese medicine, and silver-age industries collectively form an authoritative research framework with this volume, further solidifying ACSEC's leadership in academic research and industry support within the China-ASEAN silver economy sector.
In the future, ACSEC will leverage its series of publications and research findings to further deepen think tank studies, international exchanges, and industrial collaboration, continuously refine the regional knowledge system and standard framework for the silver economy, and assist China and ASEAN in jointly building a healthy aging society and a high-level cooperative ecosystem for the silver economy.
