-- Dorset-based processing agency Point Processing has recently launched a new feature called Click & Appoint, which allows clients to appoint a UK-based process agent instantly online. Designed for time-sensitive transactions, this tool offers a faster alternative to traditional appointment methods by delivering a signed process agent letter to clients within seconds of payment.
The new system aims to prevent delays for law firms, lenders, businesses making overseas deals, and offshore parties needing a process agent address under English law. Instead of the typical process of back-and-forth emailing and waiting for manual reviews to be carried out, clients can now complete their appointment forms online and receive their signed documentation immediately, often without needing to speak to anyone.
Helena Brookes, Operations Manager at Point Processing, says the development is in direct response to what clients were asking for. “We were getting urgent requests at all hours of the day and night, especially from firms working across different time zones. They needed a tool that worked fast and didn't require them to submit unnecessary paperwork or wait around for approval. Click & Appoint does exactly that.”
Click & Appoint includes a secure online form where clients enter their appointment details and upload a custom letter if required, with a range of payment options to choose from. The form supports up to 20 appointers and covers durations of up to 30 years. There’s also an option to save and resume the form later, offering flexibility for clients who need to finalise information before they can complete it.
For clients with custom appointment letters, the process is slightly different: Point Processing will manually review and sign them within one working day. All standard appointments are handled automatically, and signed letters are typically delivered to the client's inbox within seconds after payment is confirmed.
The company has also built a Fee Quote Calculator into the system. Clients can enter the number of appointors and the length of the appointment, then generate a precise cost estimate before they proceed. There’s no charge to submit the form—payment is only required before the final document is issued.
“We’re making it easier for offshore parties to meet UK legal requirements without friction,” Brookes adds. “This tool is designed for you regardless of your situation, whether you're completing a loan agreement or finalising an aircraft lease.”
While Click & Appoint handles most scenarios automatically, Point Processing continues to offer support for clients with more complex or unusual cases. They offer custom quotes and tailored solutions on request.
Click & Appoint is now live and available through the Point Processing website. The company says it will continue improving the system based on feedback from legal professionals and business users.
